Illustre Gestalten 8 – „I L L U N E S I A“

The ast weekend of January in Darmstadt, Germany, is going to be so amazing! For the 8th time illustrators from the Darmstadt region will showcase their artwork at the Centralstation.
This year the exhibition is called ”ILLUNESIA” and the guest of honour is Indonesia!

Darmstadt´s Illustrators are working with great effort on enhancing the cultural profile of their city and adding another international and illustrative dimension. Darmstadt has a strong brand as „City of Science“ and is also a center of language & literature. Literature and illustration are commonly linked together and that’s where evolution starts! The concept to cooperate with the Frankfurt Book Fair has prooven to be right, and after hosting New Zealand and Finland, Indonesia will get the chance to introduce its remarkable Illustration scene. A first encounter took place during the Book Fair at a welcome party organized by Darmstadt´s Illustrators.

17000 islands of imagination was the motto of the Frankfurt Book Fair. Darmstadt is going to add another island to this multicultural nation.

The event will be opened by Konsul Jenderal Wahyu Hersetiati and Mayor Jochen Partsch.

“ILLUNESIA” is exhibiting artworks from 16 German and many Indonesian illustrators, as there are Marishka Soekarna, Lala Bohang, Kei Kusuma, JOKOMIK, Beng Rahadian, Saut Irianto Manik, Dhanank Pambayun, Diela Maharanie, CARAVAN, Oik Wasfuk, Krisna Widiathama, Riono Tanggul, Sheila Rooswitha, FODA (Full of Doodle Art), Pena Hitam, Mayumi Haryoto, Papang Jakfar, Aditya Pratama, Yisar Andrianus, Renata Owen, Evan Raditya, Sweta Kartika and Kelir.

There will also be a special edition with a creative view from Darmstadt´s illustrators on Indonesia.

Besides the exhibition, there’s are going to be workshops (for a limited number of participants), music entertainment, a tombola with lots of prizes, a sales table with a selection of original artwork and books, and of course the opportunity to talk with the artists.
